CryoEM Current Practices Webinar 01/28/2021
The next installment of the monthly methods-focused webinar series hosted by the National Center for CryoEM Access and Training (NCCAT), along with the Pacific Northwest Center for CryoEM (PNCC), and the Stanford-SLAC CryoEM Center (S2C2) will be held on Thursday January 28, 2021 at 12 PM eastern / 9 AM pacific time Dr. Michael A. Cianfrocco, Assistant Professor, Department of Biological Chemistry, University of Michigan will talk about his work on Cloud computing tools for cryoEM Talk Abstract: Single-particle cryoEM has become a go-to technique for structural biologists across a wide range of biological disciplines. Continued investments in national and regional cryoEM instrumentation now provides access for increased numbers of labs. Despite these improvements, access to data processing resources remains a [...]
Happy Holidays
Wishing our extended CryoEM family a healthy, happy holiday season. May the coming year be full of Krios time and beautiful data!
National CryoEM Center Webinar 12/03/2020
The next installment of the monthly methods-focused webinar series hosted by Stanford-SLAC CryoEM Center (S2C2) along with the National Center for CryoEM Access and Training (NCCAT), and the Pacific Northwest Center for CryoEM (PNCC) will be held on Thursday December 3, 2020 at 12 PM EDT / 9AM PDT Dr. Sudha Chakrapani, Joseph T. Wearn, MD University Professor in Medicine at Case Western Reserve University will talk about her work Understanding gating mechanisms in Pentameric Ligand-Gated Ion Channels by CryoEM Talk Abstract: My group is interested in structure, function and dynamics of pentameric ligand-gated ion channels (pLGICs). The pLGICs are central players in mediating fast synaptic transmission in the neuronal- and neuromuscular junctions. My talk will focus on two members of [...]
Join us for our second National CryoEM Center Webinar Series on 10/29/2020
The National Center for CryoEM Access and Training (NCCAT), along with the Pacific Northwest Center for CryoEM (PNCC), and the Stanford-SLAC CryoEM Center (S2C2) are hosting a monthly webinar series featuring center users who will highlight cryoEM methods used in their research. Representatives from all three service centers will also be on hand to answer questions about the cryoEM resources available to biomedical researchers and how to access them. Our second webinar is Thursday October 29, 2020 at 12 PM EDT / 9AM PDT Dr. Farzad Jalali-Yazdi, Postdoctoral Fellow at Oregon Health and Science University will talk about his work on Sample preparation vs. data collection conditions for high-resolution CryoEM structures of NMDARs Talk Abstract: NMDA receptors are [...]
Announcing The Joint NIH Sponsored National CryoEM Center Webinar Series
The National Center for CryoEM Access and Training (NCCAT), along with the Pacific Northwest Center for CryoEM (PNCC), and the Stanford-SLAC CryoEM Center (S2C2) are hosting a new monthly webinar series. Talks will highlight work from scientists that have used center resources to further their biomedical research programs with a focus on cryoEM methods. We hope the Q&A session after the seminar will stimulate discussion of best practices and interesting challenges that will be helpful to researchers new to the field. Representatives from all three national service centers will also be on hand to answer questions about the cryoEM resources available to biomedical researchers and how to access them. Our inaugural seminar is September 24, 2020 at 12 PM EDT [...]
