The mission of NCCAT is twofold: to provide nationwide access to advanced cryoEM technical capabilities, and to assist users in the development of cryoEM skills needed for independent research. NCCAT provides access to state-of-the-art equipment required to solve structures to the highest possible resolution using cryoEM methods.

Our staff provides direct support, guidance and assistance. A cross-training program provides training across a wide variety of skill levels and career goals. We are committed to an open and transparent application process for nationwide access. Learn more

Access NCCAT

NCCAT is located at Simons Electron Microscopy Center at the New York Structural Biology Center in the research corridor of upper Manhattan. The center is easily accessible by the subway and located a short distance from 3 major airports.

NCCAT operations have begun ramping up and we are allowing early access GUPs to access the center. The NCCAT extension is set to be completed summer of 2019 with full operations beginning shortly after. To stay tuned to developments subscribe to our newsletter.
