NCCAT COVID-19 Operations

NCCAT is OPEN. Users are welcome onsite with modified access.

Dear NCCAT users,

The National Center for CryoEM Access and Training (NCCAT) is open for on-site access, but certain services may be modified according to the health situation.

Operationally, we ramped up capacity taking guidance from the New York Forward NY State re-opening plan. As of June 2021 NYS has lifted its COVID-19 restrictions. Currently, we have adopted the CDC Interim Public Health Recommendations for Fully Vaccinated People.

The Time Allocation Committee (TAC) will be in touch with the spokesperson of awarded proposals to work out scheduling and logistics. You may email nccatuseroffice [at] nysbc.org for further details.

Instrumentation access

GUP, RAP and BAG instrumentation access users will be contacted by the TAC and NCCAT User Office (NUO) to schedule access. GUP1, RAP and BAG Krios access will be for Krios ready grids. NCCAT staff will assist with data collection, but users may schedule onsite visits as appropriate. Ahead of your scheduled session, the NUO will arrange a video conference to work out logistics and answer your questions.

Cross-training access

On-site cross-training and on-site workshops have resumed.

TP1 and TP2 awardees will receive remote training where possible to make the time here as impactful as possible. The NUO will contact you to draft a customized cross-training program. We have made strides to expand our learning programs, which will serve as a foundation for your cross-training plan. Some of our planned modules will be dependent on your home institutional resources.
