Research Associate and Scientist positions

The Simons Electron Microscopy Center (http://semc.nysbc.org) at NYSBC seeks experienced electron microscopists to join the staff of the National Center for CryoEM Access and Training (NCCAT).

The individual will be responsible for collection of high resolution data for user laboratories as part of a team. Qualities include being capable of multitasking, enjoy working with other people, have a good working knowledge of electron microscopes and a strong research background. Good communication skills are essential. Applicants should have a Masters or PhD in a science related field.

Research programmer position

The Simons Electron Microscopy Center (http://semc.nysbc.org), which support projects involving electron tomography and single particle analysis, is looking for a program developer/software scientist to join the staff of the National Center for CryoEM Access and Training (NCCAT).

The individual will join our team to work on integration, visualization and pre-processing steps of electron microscopy data. This position would cover the image acquisition and quality control pipeline during and after the data collection, as well as architecture development to create and maintain the infrastructure to support these pipelines.

Systems Administrator

The National Center for CryoEM Access and Training (NCCAT) in the Simons Electron Microscopy Center (http://semc.nysbc.org) at NYSBC is seeking a systems administrator.

Responsibilities include helping design, implement, and maintain computational and operational infrastructure at the center, which will be scaling up rapidly over the next 1-2 years. Candidates with DevOps or other experience working closely with a software development team are encouraged to apply.

Technician and Internship positions

The National Center for CryoEM Access and Training (NCCAT) in the Simons Electron Microscopy Center (http://semc.nysbc.org) at NYSBC are looking for a bright and enthusiastic individuals to help out with various tasks to keep the lab running. Most important requirements are a good attitude, ability to learn, able to work independently, early riser and willingness to do what needs to be done. Must be able to work in a multi-tasking environment where priorities may change often and be able to work well with others. Previous electron microscope experience is not required, but is a plus.
